The Steel Lady: DNS Providers

I had the idea the other day to start a website dedicated to the works of Danielle Steel. Some of you will applaud me, most of you will jeer. I accept that. I am not perfect, but I am dedicated. Indeed, I defy any of the naysayers to read the 1977 classic, PASSION’S PROMISE and not be moved to tears. To have a heart is to know the Steel Lady. But I digress. The point here is that I had an excellent idea for a website.

Warm San Jose Nights

Though Eric Burdon and the Animals were quick to proclaim the virtues of those warm San Franciscan nights in 1967, it must have struck anyone who had ever spent time in Fog City that there are no such things as warm San Franciscan nights. Ever. Never! San Francisco is bordered on three sides by water and maintains a chilly average nightly temperature of 55 degrees. Mr. Burdon and his mates must have mistakenly been across the bay, in the colony formerly known as Nueva California. Yes, that’s right, the home of Silicon Valley: San Jose.

White Collar Rears

Cubicles, florescent lights, dull gray carpets, the hum of a computer, the squeak of an office chair, and the smell of burnt coffee. Welcome to the office. For a construct that is less than 150 years old, the office has managed to become perhaps the single best qualifier for what we consider white-collar employment. Though a staunch capitalist would claim the office started with the ancient Roman officium most archaeological evidence suggests these ancient offices were a dignitary’s administrative staff and collaborators and wee often mobile.
